In this guide, we’ll show you how to see live visitors on your website using Chatway and proactively initiate a chat to engage them in real time. This will help you improve customer support, boost conversions, and create a more personalized user experience by reaching out to potential customers at the right moment.
Note: To use this feature, you need to have a Pro plan. You can test this feature too, during the free trial.
Let’s start!
Step 1: Open your Chatway dashboard and click on the live visitors icon from the left sidebar.

Step 2: Now you will land on the Live Visitors Dashboard.

Next to the “Live Visitors” heading, you’ll find the total number of visitors currently on the website. Additionally, you’ll see details such as the visitor’s name, the URL they are currently on, their geographical location, email ID, and either a “Start Chat” button or a “View Chat” button if you’ve previously interacted with them.
In the top right corner, you’ll find the “Filter” and “Search” options. These allow you to filter visitors by categories such as “New & Recurring Visitors“, “New Visitors“, and “Recurring Visitors“. You can also refine results by selecting specific countries whose visitors you want to view.
Additionally, there’s a search icon that, when clicked, expands into a search bar, enabling you to find visitors by name or email.

Step 3: To initiate the chat, please click the “Start Chat” button, and that will take you to the Chatway inbox, where you can send the message to initiate the conversation.
