The Mailchimp integration is available on all paid Chatway plans and lets you automatically send contacts from your Chatway widget to your Mailchimp account.
Note that a contact is sent only after a visitor submits the Chatway contact form and checks the consent checkbox. To do this, you’ll need to create a Chatway contact form and add the consent checkbox field from your Chatway dashboard (along with other form fields you’d like to add).
This helps make sure contacts are added with permission. You can follow these steps to connect your Mailchimp account:
Step 1: Open your Chatway dashboard and click on the settings icon on top of your Chatway profile picture in the bottom left corner.

Step 2: Click Integrations & Apps.

Step 3: Here, look for Mailchimp and click “Connect Now”.

Step 4: Click on the “Connect” button on the next page.

Step 5: After this, you’ll be asked to log in and authorize your Mailchimp account on a new tab. After logging in, please click Allow to give Chatway access to your Mailchimp account.

You’ll get redirected back to your Chatway account once this is done.
Step 6: After connecting, select the Mailchimp Audience list where contacts should be added.

Step 7: After selecting the list, you can check one or all of these checkboxes depending on your preferences.

Here’s what each of these options means briefly in Mailchimp:
1. Mark as double opt-in: A setting within your Mailchimp account that’ll let your contacts confirm if they do or do not wish to receive marketing e-mails from you. Instead, they’ll receive an initial “opt-in email” asking them to confirm their subscription.
2. Add existing users who have provided consent: Previously collected Chatway contacts are sent to Mailchimp, but only if consent was given previously.
3. Update existing contacts in Mailchimp: If the same email already exists in Mailchimp, the contact details are automatically updated.
4. Add tag: Adds labels, called tags in Mailchimp, to your contacts when they’re synced. Tags help you group and find contacts later by source or interest. You can add multiple tags separated by commas. These tags exist only in Mailchimp.
Once you’re done, click Continue.
Step 8: Next, connect your Chatway contact fields to matching fields in Mailchimp. Chatway fields are shown on the left and Mailchimp fields on the right. This tells Chatway where each piece of information should go when a contact is synced.

Note: Make sure you match the correct field types, for example, text to text or date to date.
Click on “Map Another Field” if you wish to add additional fields, and click Save once you’re done.
Now, whenever a visitor submits a contact form on your website, the mapped details will be added to your Mailchimp contacts automatically. For example:

After the form is submitted, here’s how it’ll show up in your Mailchimp account:

You can always turn off, edit, or disconnect your audience list from the Mailchimp integration page in Chatway:

If you use multiple widgets, you can choose different Mailchimp audience lists for each widget. Here’s how:

This lets you send contacts from different widgets to different audiences in Mailchimp.
