Chatway now offers a new feature that allows you to create different customizations for your widget on different devices. This means you can now tailor the appearance of your widget to better suit desktop and mobile users, ensuring a seamless experience for every visitor, regardless of the device they’re using.
You can choose the widget position, widget size, preview text bubble and welcome message.
So let’s dive in.
First, open your Chatway dashboard and click on the settings icon on top of your Chatway profile picture in the bottom left corner:
Now, you will now see an option to Separate desktop & mobile settings under the General Preferences section. Toggle the setting to enable it and you will see 2 tabs for the desktop and mobile settings:
Click on the device type you want to customize. You’ll be able to personalize the widget appearance for each view point separately. Let’s cover the settings below:
1. Customize your widget
Desktop: Adjust the positioning and size to match larger screens. Add a longer welcome message or a preview text bubble for a better call-to-action.
Mobile: Make sure the widget is responsive on smaller screens by adjusting for touch interaction and optimizing the size for better mobile usability. You can choose to show or hide the preview text bubble depending on how much space you have on your mobile view, as well as add a shorter welcome message to keep the view decluttered.
2. Preview your changes
As you make adjustments, the preview tool allows you to see how your widget will look on each device. You can toggle between device views to ensure your widget looks perfect.
3. Save & Apply
Once you are happy with the appearance of your widget on each device, click on the Publish button.
That’s it! The customizations will be applied instantly to your widget, giving users a tailored experience on their respective devices.
