In this guide, we’ll show you the steps on how to push data about logged-in users in WordPress such as name, email and avatar to Chatway.
The way it works, the data will automatically be synced in your Chatway dashboard when a user who is logged in your WordPress site starts a chat, based on the information in the user’s WordPress account.
This feature can be useful to identify users who contact you faster and offer a faster and streamlined service.
Let’s cover each of them below:
Push First name and Last name from logged-in visitors in WordPress
To provide a personalized customer support experience, Chatway allows you to automatically push the first name and last name of your logged-in users from your WordPress website directly to the Chatway unified inbox dashboard. This ensures that your customer service team can easily identify the customers and interact with them on a first-name basis, creating a more friendly and engaging conversation.
When users log in to your WordPress website, their profile information (such as first name and last name) is stored in the WordPress user database. You can see this information in the right sidebar in your Chatway dashboard, like so:

Push email address from logged-in visitors in WordPress
To enhance customer interactions and streamline data management in your Chatway unified inbox, you can directly push customer email addresses from your WordPress website to your Chatway dashboard. This feature helps identify users in real-time and also ensures that you’re working with verified email addresses as every customer who logs into your WordPress website uses an email address connected to their account. Here’s how it looks under the “Custom data” area in Chatway:

Note the email at the top area under the user’s name is the one the user can leave upon starting the chat.
Push avatar from logged-in visitors in WordPress
Integrating customer avatars into your Chatway dashboard enhances personalization. Through Gravatar, you can fetch avatars associated with your user’s WordPress account and display them directly in Chatway. This helps you streamline user identification for your support team and makes the chat more personal. Here is where the avatar will show:
