Chatway’s AI agent can access data from your connected WordPress website and WooCommerce store to provide more accurate and relevant answers to your customers. By connecting your WordPress site, the AI agent can use website content such as pages and posts, as well as WooCommerce data such as products, orders, fulfillment information, and cart and checkout abandonment data. This gives the AI agent more context about your website and store, helping it provide better support based on your actual content and store data.
With this guide, you’ll learn how to connect your WordPress website to the AI agent and choose which types of WordPress and WooCommerce data the AI agent can access.
Let’s start!
If you haven’t set up your AI agent yet, you’ll need to create one before enabling website and store data access. Please follow our guide on How to add an AI agent in Chatway to complete the initial setup.
Step 1: If you’ve already set up your AI agent, you can go directly to your AI Agent Settings from your Chatway dashboard: AI Agent Settings.

Step 2: In your AI agent settings page, click AI Knowledge Sources.

Step 3: In your Knowledge Sources page, click Select Websites and stores.

Step 4: After clicking Select Websites and stores, a window will appear showing the websites and stores connected to your Chatway account.
Find the website or store you want the AI agent to access, then turn on the toggle next to Allow access to website data.
This allows the AI agent to securely access relevant information, such as public pages, products, customer orders, and cart details, when answering customer questions.
Once you’ve enabled access, click Save to apply the changes.

Step 5: After enabling your WordPress website, you can choose which types of data the AI agent can access. Click Set permissions for private data access to view the available options.
You can allow the AI agent to access Pages and Posts from your WordPress website, as well as Products, Order & fulfillments, and Cart & checkout abandonments from your WooCommerce store.
Select the data types you want to make available to the AI agent, then click Save to apply your settings.

Step 6: After saving your settings, you’ll return to the AI Knowledge Sources page. Your connected WordPress website will now show as Enabled, with the selected WordPress and WooCommerce data types listed under Access allowed.
You’ll also see a confirmation message stating Website access enabled successfully, confirming that the AI agent can now access the selected data when responding to customers.
